Georgia’s Heartbeat of Hospitality
A leading light in Georgia’s business world and beyond, Valeri Chekheria has revolutionized the country’s hospitality industry by creating such internationally praised Georgian lifestyle brands as Rooms Hotels (Tbilisi and Kazbegi), Stamba Hotel, and Fabrika.
Under his leadership as CEO, the Adjara Group has built a diverse portfolio of trendsetting hotels and entrepreneurial projects, including a large-scale agricultural and farming development initiative in the eastern region of Georgia. Throughout his company’s rapid growth, Chekheria has remained a strong leader in Adjara’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and a dedicated philanthropist involved in a number of charitable causes, including serving as Chairman of the Board for the Global Compact Network Georgia and as a board member of the McLain Association for Children and of the Civil Development Agency (CIDA).
Prior to taking over at Adjara, Chekheria worked as Chief of Staff for Georgia’s Minister of Economic Development and for the Minister of Finance. As a recognition of his achievements, Chekheria was nominated in 2018 by the World Economic Forum to become a member of the Young Global Leaders program, along with 100 of the world’s most promising business leaders, public servants, technologists, social entrepreneurs, and artists.
